Outcome
✓ Full 3BHK villa furnished in 7 weeks, under Rs. 8.5 lakh
Project Overview
Rajesh and Meera had just completed construction on their independent 3BHK villa in Koramangala's 6th Block. The structure was complete, but every room was empty. With family visiting for a house blessing ceremony in two months, they needed a full home - living, dining, master bedroom, two children's rooms, and a dedicated home study - furnished with cohesive, solid wood pieces that would last a decade.
Property Size: 2,200 sqft (3BHK + study) Project Budget Range: Rs. 7.5 lakh - Rs. 9 lakh Timeline Constraint: 7 weeks to full house blessing date
The Challenge
Three specific problems made this project technically demanding:
-
Non-standard ceiling heights: The villa had 11ft ceilings throughout. Every wardrobe, bookshelf, and wall unit needed to either reach ceiling height or be designed with deliberate visual breathing room - standard 7ft wardrobes would look awkward.
-
Coordinating four rooms simultaneously: Most furniture providers would stagger delivery across rooms over 2-3 months. Rajesh and Meera needed all four rooms functional by a single date.
-
Children's rooms that grow with them: Their sons, aged 6 and 9, needed rooms that would work now but adapt as they became teenagers - not feature-heavy kids furniture they'd outgrow in three years.
Room-by-Room Solution
Living Room: The Centrepiece
The centrepiece of the ground floor was a custom 3+2 seater sectional in a warm terracotta performance velvet, built on a solid sheesham frame. The configuration was designed around a central 160cm coffee table in natural teak, flanked by two side accent tables.
Key dimension challenge solved: the living room's main wall is 480cm wide with a 90cm archway breaking it at the centre. We positioned the 3-seater against the full wall and the 2-seater on the return, framing the archway rather than fighting it.
Dining: Statement Piece for 8
A family of Rajesh's size entertains frequently. We built a solid teak 8-seater dining table at 220x100cm, with a 4cm thick plank-top finish that highlights the natural grain. Eight upholstered dining chairs in a dark forest green linen tied visually to the terracotta living room through a complementary earth-tone palette.
Master Bedroom: Luxury Storage
A king-size (180x200cm) bed frame in solid sheesham with a channel-stitched charcoal fabric headboard that runs to 150cm height - proportional to the villa's 11ft ceilings. Two matching bedside tables with integrated USB charging ports, and a custom 8ft sliding-door wardrobe in walnut veneer finish with a full-length mirror panel.
Children's Rooms: Built to Grow
Both boys' rooms received the same core configuration, customised for each child's personality in colour accents only. The structural furniture is identical and neutral:
- A full-sized loft bed (not a bunk) with a solid sheesham ladder, desk integrated below, and a full single mattress platform above - functional now and through teenage years.
- A 4-door wardrobe in clean white matte finish, floor to ceiling at 11ft.
- A wall-mounted study desk (140x55cm) in walnut finish, with a floating shelf above for books and a monitor if needed.
Study Room
A 160x80cm executive desk in solid oak with a return unit on the left, paired with our adjustable lumbar office chair. Built-in bookshelves on the back wall used the full 11ft ceiling height, with a sliding ladder track for the upper shelves.
Outcome
- Timeline: All rooms fully assembled 6 days before the house blessing - 6 days ahead of the 7-week deadline.
- Budget Performance: Final invoice came to Rs. 8.34 lakh, within the approved ceiling.
- Zero Reworks: Every custom dimension fit precisely. The 3-seater cleared the archway with exactly the 15cm buffer we designed for.
"We genuinely couldn't believe they had the whole house ready in time. The quality of the wood is something else - you can tell immediately it's proper furniture, not laminate. The boys absolutely love their rooms." - Rajesh S.
